A School Built With Purpose

Vision

Our vision is for every child to know they are capable and created with purpose, growing in faith, confidence, independence, and learning.

Our Mission

We provide individualized learning, serving each child with the love, compassion, and purpose Jesus shows us, so they can learn, grow, and thrive.

Statement of Faith

We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God and the foundation for truth and how we live. We believe in one God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God, who died and rose again for us. Salvation comes through faith in Him. Because of His love and grace, our faith calls us to love and serve others and to do good works for His glory. We believe every child is created by God with unique gifts, value, and purpose. Biblical truth will be woven throughout our school day and reflected in how we learn, serve, forgive, make choices, and treat others. PDS is a Christian school, and families are asked to understand and respect that all instruction is guided by a Christian worldview.

Our Story

Pelican Developmental School was born from years of working with children and families and seeing capable children struggle in traditional school settings. Too often, we watched a child’s challenges become the focus while their strengths and potential were overlooked. Through those experiences, the Lord placed a clear calling on my heart: this system needed to change, and we could begin fixing it one small step at a time. PDS was created to be that step. As we prepare to open in August 2027, we are building a Christian school where children are understood, supported, challenged, and given the opportunity to discover just how capable God created them to be.

Why Pelican Developmental School?

At PDS, the child does not have to fit the classroom. We adapt the classroom to the child. Students may learn standing, moving, using sensory seating, adaptive tools, or working in different spaces. We adjust the environment, instruction, pacing, and support so each child can truly access learning.
